I think the term is “loving wife” and he hasn’t seen it in quite awhile.

Just because I’m looking for it doesn’t mean I remember what to call it…today.

He forgot the ENGLISH word for it? So say it in Spanish/German/French and then look up the translation. LOL

If Earl was still strong enough, I would recommend a good couch flip…with her in it!

Earl is looking for his “dignity”. He loses it from time-to-time.

I love this strip when Earl is having quality time with his grandson. But I’m sick of seeing Opal treat Earl like the Born Loser. I am unfollowing. Good-by.

what is it called in the language you do remember the name in? maybe we’ll get lucky and I will be able to figure out what it is.

Mr. Crane’s been spying on me again! But my senior moments are bi-lingual – especially when trying to explain or translate something for my non-English speaking wife.

Remote? I lose mine often. She doesn’t even ask what I’m doing anymore; pretty obvious.

Opal is the kind of woman I avoid. When she is caustic in this comic it is never funny.

The French word is derrière.

My wife and I talk like that all the time, but we both know its just kidding.

It’s just comedic humor to show human frailties. Men accept these little digs, but if the genders were reversed, women would come unglued—“Hell hath no fury” and that kind of thing. Stick with us!

His snapses aren’t snapping as fast as they use to.

As two old folk with one old folk post stroke, this is funny because this is us every day. I joke because it helps reduce the stress of having to share my brain with the dear one who unfortunately no longer has full use of his. And my brain is starting to fail too.

When I worked in retail, there was always someone who wanted something but didn’t know what it was called. They would try to describe it to me………..I’m using it for something other than what it is intended for, it’s about this big, it’s usually make out of plastic, etc., etc.

I can so relate to Earl’s searching for a word that is right on the tip of the tongue. Opal’s riposte was just plain mean, though.

Get a life! They are an old couple and are still together and happy. Occasionallly they tease each other about getting older. It keeps them lively and young at heart. I love Opal and Earl!!!!

My mom always says: “When I get old & forgetful, just remember I’ve always been this way.” (She’s 85 & sharp as a tack.)

One of the reasons I generally don’t watch sitcoms is the amount of veiled nastiness disguised as good-natured ribbing. Someone’s always the butt of the joke. But I hardly think Pickles descends to that level…YMMV…
