One difference between 20 year olds and 70 year olds is that 20 year olds need to acquire stuff while 70 year olds need to get rid of stuff. Maybe Earl thinks that he’s still a teenager.

Let’s not mention yard sales!

Well, those Nehru jackets and bell-bottom trousers were a real bargain!

Tons of stuff already send to Goodwill, Saint Vincent and the Salvation Army and yet more to go.

That used to happen when I would take books to sell to the Half Price Book Store. Unfortunately, the nearest one went out of business.

That’s how I usually end when I try to get rid of a few books.

Can’t throw anything out when my Other says, “These are perfectly good (fill in the item name)!” (Yes, I have one of THOSE persons!)

Before I go Good Will Hunting, I go through my closet to rid myself of the things I no longer wear. I then have room for the clothing I KNOW I will buy!

Huh, I though I was the only one who did that.

I’m with Earl. I love my 20 year old shirts much, much better than that slick new stuff that makes you look like a time traveler

They look familiar because Earl bought back the old clothes he left there the last time she cleaned out their closets.

I don’t throw out “old” clothes. I’ve kept myself in shape, and even stuff I wore in high school decades ago still fits me perfectly. Much to my wife’s dismay.

Like my husband especially with shirts. . . . (sigh)

My grand-kids loved to shop there, now they’re all college graduated professionals, except the one going for a physics PhD, and making bucks as a TA. Good thing my wife had brains. And, Lord willing, someday I’ll get all the lowdown on the quantum linking at great distances tale.

Never send a man to do a woman’s job.

Attaboy Earl….

My wife and I enjoy browsing at our local thrift store. We don’t always bring donations — it can take a while to accumulate enough to fill up a box. But on any given trip, we definitely purchase less than we donated.

Well that was predictable.

Earl doesn’t seem like a clothes horse…I wonder what he found that caught his eye? I always look through old books, magazines, and records but I rarely find more than two or three worth bringing home…

Earl is constantly portrayed as a dupe, loser, idiot, etc. She’ll probably drop dead if she ever decides he’s done something right.

I like there used furniture.
