Tellin’ my age here, but I can remember there being a “gas war” between 4 stations (on 4 corners) of an intersection in my home town, and gas got as low as 12 cents a gallon. I was driving an MG Midget at the time…took 7 gallons to fill up…
Yep, gas was 27¢ a gallon, the attendant pumped it while we sat in our car, plus he washed the windows and checked the oil and gave us a free drinking glass with every fill-up. (Daddy, what’s an ‘attendant?’)
Except that the picture shows a single air cleaner, more likely indicating a 4bbl carb. Three deuces wouldn’t have a single big air cleaner, but three small ones.

Those cars rule the road when I was a kid growing up in 1960’s!

They were style and speed, but a Charger would dust them….

Goat. Was that the thing in the dust of my 387 Plymouth? Funny, but the song came out before they named the car.
Dad, tell me about when gas was.33, there was not emissions, and 12 MPG was a point of pride.

I had an Austin America. It may have been only four cylinders, but it got 40 MPG (and, yes, this was in the ’70s) and it was all mine.

A real Plugger couldn’t afford a GTO. Maybe if he bought it in the 70’s, when prices were low and he kept it.

Got that right, Tigger!
