Okay, will somebody please explain this to me? Exactly what is so repugnant about wearing sandals with socks?

My sandals are perfectly comfortable as they are (or else I wouldn’t own them), but sometimes socks makes them even better – adds a little more cushioning, and provides warmth even in the summer. (Have you ever gone from a fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk day into a meat locker of a store?)

I’m old enough to have wisely given up on trying to look “cool”, and I’m not cruising clubs trying to get lucky. So what, I ask, is the big frakking deal?

Perfectly okay, but, as demonstrated, they must be white socks!

I love my husband more than anything in the world but … I wouldn’t be caught dead with him if he were to ever do this in public!

Scaaty–there’s nothing repugnant about it. It’s the truth. Besides, if you’ve got a teenager, all you have to do is threaten to come to school wearing this, and you can get anything you want out of them.

Pluggers have zero fashion sense.
