Back a few hundred years ago as a kid. our neighbor had an old wash tub by his back door with night crawlers in it. Every morning he would dump the perculator coffee grounds in it and cover it back over with planks to keep it moist. Not many days he missed going fishing.
Then there was Faralones Institute’s experiment with their office in a house in Berkeley. They had the vermiculture under the chicken coop. Chicken guano fed the earthworms and earthworms provided the protein supplement for the chickens.
