This reminds me of a movie I watched last night. Very weird. About an undertaker who had a gift. He could talk to corpses and they could talk back. Title: After.Life
The last time I gathered at a funeral was in 2007 for my grandfather; he would’ve been turning 100 this year. As for a scheduled reunion, just this June.
Sorry to all that have had losses. It was that way in my family also, until last year. At my Uncle Foot’s funeral (yes, that was his nickname . . . and his brothers are Snuffy and Slug) it was decided “Enough!” It’s time to start a scheduled family reunion to get together, swap stories, laugh, eat and make merry. So in October, we had our first reunion at a beautiful state park in western Georgia. They had campgrounds and cottages, so for two days, most of my mother’s family gathered for a wonderful time. We’re doing it again this October. One of my cousins is putting together a cookbook of favorite family recipes. I can hardly wait!

And weddings, graduations, etc. That way, there’s no time to get into too much trouble!!

What gets me is the funeral of someone that I clearly remember being born. That has happened too many times lately.

My reality has been spoken here because it is only on the fantasy of TV that I have seen family reunions other than at funerals.

How sad that this has to be so true for so many — including my family, as well.
