this must be a current strip, though we wish in San Diego that gas prices WERE this low … we’ve been in the high $3 and low $4 per gallon for several weeks now … we’re usually $0.25 to $0.50 higher than everyone else (’cept maybe New York.)
I remember when you could get four gallons of gas for one dollar. Now its four dollars for ine gallon…Sixteem times higher. The only oter things I can think of which increased that much are college tuition and smokes…And I don’t have to buy either of those any more.
It’s also a gamble drawing a cartoon weeks in advance and having to guess what the price will be . . . in this case, in Virginia at any rate, the price isn’t too far off the mark.
Yeah, I made that gamble two days ago on my way home from work. Didn’t feel like stopping, thought I would on my way to work in the am. Lost that bet! Gas went from $3.85 to $3.95, in less than 24 hours!

Gee, I wonder if shutting down all drilling in the Gulf in the wake of the BP spill might not have something to do with this?
Oh, that and all the idled Drilling Rigs having moved to Brazil where they’ve been drilling for the last 2 years, now.

thing is, President Barack Obama’s Energy secretary Steve Chu wanted in 2008 for OUR gas prices to be similar to Europe’s. as in at least $8 a gal.
