The cycling paperboy needs to work better on his aim… and make sure the paper is securely in that plastic baggy.

My wife demands the paper be delivered onto the porch so she doesn’t have to walk out there in her bathrobe. If they don’t get it up there she calls to complain! (Yes, she’s the dead tree paper reader – I read it all on the computer ,,, or smart phone!)

I used to subscribe to the paper for several years, but when they practically doubled the price in less than a year and it became more ads than news I had enough.

Our delivery man double bags the paper when it rains. BUT, he put both bags on in the same direction.

I dropped the daily paper a year ago to save money. Then, in October, the Sunday paper failed to show four weeks in a row, despite me calling about it each time. So I dropped that. I can get all the comics and more online, and the rest wasn’t worth $1.75, even considering that $1.75 is only enough for a candy bar these days.

Our paper is in the little box next to the mailbox which is 1/2 mile from the house.

We had a box for papers next to our letter box, but the newspapers were still dropped or thrown from the back of a moving vehicle. We live on a hill. The paper might land on the the driveway, but if it was raining, it would get washed down to the curb and land in the gutter where the plastic bag wrappers would fill with water. By the time I got to the paper, it was more like paper mache. You had to call the paper before a certain time of day in order to get a replacement and then, it was hit or miss whether you’d get one.

    I cancelled the subscription.

These all sound familiar and the reason I no longer get a delivered newspaper. Especially the rain episodes. Always in a puddle and the plastic torn. Wet papers are not worth it. Plus they could never get my vacation ‘stop and resume’ right.

Read the daily paper for over 50 years. Paper kept getting smaller and price bigger. Buh-bye.

makes me smile to live in a country where proper service is taken for granted and bad service is not an option…
