Barking up the wrong tree? No, sawing down the wrong poles! This is pretty close to real dog behavior, though. I had a couple of dogs who started chasing a rabbit, which quickly outdistanced them and ran out of sight. The dogs, for some reason, thought the rabbit had gone up a spruce tree, and persistently stood there barking up at the tree, refusing to come back into the house. I had to go and pick each one up and bring him back inside, which was difficult, because I was laughing so hard!

I don’t like to be a name-caller, but those two are idiots!! Even if they did get the right pole, the cat would jump off and be long gone.
