I watched Cronkite and Huntley and Brinkley when I was a kid. They were newmen. Now it’s the “bubble-headed bleach blonde” mentality of sensationalism. What do they lead with if there isn’t a murder or other mayhem? Sorry for the cynicism in a comic strip….
I haven’t watched news religiously since Walter Cronkite retire and Huntley and Brinkley went off the air. Mostly because they spend 2 minutes coving world news and twenty minutes covering sports. Fah!
One of the questions in the National History Bee friday night was “How many people currently serve in the U.S. House of Representatives”. The answer they wanted, and got, was 435. The actual answer is “Less than 218”. Most are there to “Make Barack Obama a one-term president”.

The sad thing is, I’m not sure which side of that bet I’d take.
