winslow: here's how the fairness doctrine workes, carmen. first you say something... winslow: ...then i say something for an equal amount of time. carmen: what if people want to listen to me more than you, winslow? winslow: tough beans! carmen: that's unfair! winslow: we're calling it "freedom of speech 2.0."

I feel the demise of this doctrine was warranted when the national org. of women forced the song âUnborn Childâ by Seals and Croft to be pulled from the airwaves. Those who propose itâs return will find a double edged sword awaits them.

The prime problem with the doctrine as this can be applied to anything someone feels is âone-sidedâ on the airwaves. Those of us who watch channels like DayStar, TBN, THERE, Oxygen, and other special-interest channels will find them shut down because they will not back down from their ethics that caused them to start the stations in the first place.
Fairness Doctrine IS NOT FAIR, itâs a tool for suppression of people who disagree with the Government (notice the big G..this is where they want to go, all hail the Federal State)

Hereâs an idea, go to the mainstream media and tell them you want to hear more conservative ideas expressed on their networks to make it âfairâ. Of course THAT would never happen.

charlie37133: are you sure Pelosi said she wants it back to curve talk radio? Or maybe itâs to curb talk radio, hmm?
Just curious: have any of you actually read the documents behind the Fairness Doctrine? Based on the comments, Iâm betting you havenât. And neither s, apparently, Stantis.

What if people want to hear what both have to say equally, but Carmen talks more and interrupts Winslow, shouting him down and talking over him? Oh, and if Carmen with a bunch of her friends comes down to shout down Winslow if people start listening to him?
(Yes, this is what is actually happening in the real world, not in Stantisâ world.)

maxstone: Can you name one person in government, using their OWN WORDS, that wants to bring back the Fairness Doctrine?

Should âThe Fairness Doctrineâ be re-onstated you can bet that there will exemptions for the âNational Propaganda Radioâ and âPurely Biased Stupidityâ. Sadly on both extreme sides of the political spectrum freedom of speech is: âAs long as I agree with it.â
Also R.I.P. Ron Silver

âShould âThe Fairness Doctrineâ be re-onstatedâŠâ
Wait, if weâre going to live in hypothetical land, shouldnât we also be planning on the sun turning into a giant pony?
After all, if that happens, the hypothetical pony will die of hypothetical asphyxiation and weâll go into a hypothetical deep freeze. We canât let that happen! We must immediately pump hypothetical money into the hypothetical âSave the Sun Fundâ and slash the hypothetical Sun Tax!
Okay, back to the real world. Who is seeking to re-onstate (sic) the Fairness Doctrine? Citations would be nice.

Ah, I see we are once again at the point of the infamous âLordDogmoreâs Cure-All.â That being when every nations that has nukes, USES THEM, then we wonât have to woory about ANYTHING ANY MORE! Problem solved.
