Superdelegates — i.e., party and elected officials — have been part of the mix since the ‘80s. Bernie’s campaign manager is one of the people who designed this reform. Given what the Republicans are facing, they probably wish they had done the same thing.

Amazing timing for the critique of the rigged democrat primaries, as Sen Sanders swept the three this weekend by large margins. Note that Donald Trump has not won any primary by the margins Sanders carried this weekend.

Super-delegates reduce multiple ballots at a contested convention & no one wants another Chicago ’68. They said the same ting about Ms. Clinton 8 years ago, then their voters said they wanted something further left & they went along at the convention. Root of their base is still saying “A bit more to the left, please.”
