I would love to use my real name and location to post comments. I would need to live in a civilized society. But armed evil crazy people do live in my vicinity. And it may not take very much to set them off.
There are two stories about Jan. 6, 2021. One is based on the facts and events that the world saw at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. The other is a sprawling work of collaborative fiction by supporters of former President Donald Trump https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/07/27/opinion/jan-6-committee-facts.html
‘A Peaceful Transfer of Power Didn’t Happen This Year’
FACT “I recognized the fact that there were individuals that were trying to grab ahold of my gun. I remember one of them distinctly lunging at me time and time again trying to grab my gun. And I heard people in the crowd yelling ‘get his gun,’ ‘kill him with his own gun’ and words to that effect.”
— D.C. Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone, July 27, 2021
“I was on the lower west terrace fighting alongside these officers, and all of them, all of them were telling us Trump sent us. Nobody else. It was nobody else. It was not antifa, it was not Black Lives Matter, it was not the F.B.I.; it was his supporters that he sent them over to the Capitol that day.”
— U.S. Capitol Police Sgt. Aquilino Gonell, July 27, 2021
MYTHOLOGY “By and large it was peaceful protest except for, there were a number of people basically agitators that whipped the crowd and breached the Capitol.”
— Senator Ron Johnson, Republican of Wisconsin, May 19, 2021
“if you didn’t know the TV footage was a video from January the 6th, you’d actually think it was a normal tourist visit.”
— Rep. Andrew Clyde, Republican of Georgia, May 12, 2021
This is why I won’t use my real name. There are some real crazies in the world, and I don’t want to risk ending up the victim of someone who decided to kill me just because my opinion differed from theirs. I know that the chances of that happening are slim, but I’m not willing to take any chances.

If you’re GQP, you will gut them anyway. Cruelty and pain are the point of Republican politics.

“Yesterday’s Scott Stantis editorial piece was especially right-wing populist,” Ross Shales.

this option should be allowed more on-line
but now the social-media companies want more and more to tie accounts to e-mail and even phone

Does this mean, then, that you disagreed with Citizens United?

This will be a valid and true investigation when they subpoena the Fat Orange Clown and they hear his explanation or he takes the 5th Amendment.
