I read this as the news was reporting the passing of Ed Asner.

I don’t get i-OH!!! Because so many died in Afghanistan because President Biden’s plan was correct, but still deeply flawed??? Look at it this way though: at least an ADULT AMERICAN is in charge!

The Flag Code states it is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset on buildings and on stationary flag staffs in the open. However, when a patriotic effect is desired, the flag may be displayed 24 hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness.

In the cartoon, it looks like nighttime and there are no illuminating lights, so what’s the problem? These “patriots” who fly their flags continuously 24/7 are violating the Flag Code – particularly as they allow the weather to ruin their flags.

I’m reading it as the Americans have left Afghanistan.

Looking back twenty years ago Scott. We were beaten before we went in. We let them win. Bush, Cheney, Powell, Rumsfeld. We let them win.

New flagpoles will be made with the top half of painted wood, since flags will be at permanent half-mast for the rest of our lives.
