Back in the ’70s and ’80s I lived in Abilene, Texas and the local Ford dealer advertised used cars and they advertised the Loan Arranger would get you in a used car.
I couldn’t get past the Hungry Man dinners. Every Thanksgiving when I got older, I stayed home when my parents went “home” and I had to work. I had my Hungry Man turkey and dressing dinner.
I was also optimistic, but corporate beat me down in short order. I could have made more money, but the trade off was sitting in traffic 3 hours a day. No thanks. Then I got a cushy state job with retirement. Took it 4 years ago and spend my time playing video games and diving down internet rabbit holes.
