That brings back memories. Wild Wild West was one of my favorite shows as a child.

You’re not the only one who thought of Ellery Queen at the mention of Stephanie Queen. I read a lot of those stories, in another era where the main reason people went to libraries was to check out books.

I listened to several of those on a radio station 25 years ago that played many of the old time serials. One thing I noticed is that many of the plots were very similar to Lone Ranger episodes.

As for Dick Tracy, such a fantastic change for the better!

I”m out of here. I’ve seen the strip through to the end, and wanted to see the beginning. The new roommate is so annoying I don’t want to risk seeing it again despite some good laughs yet to come when it isn’t involved.

How can anyone who knows anything about baseball think that isn’t a home run? By the cartoonist’s logic, a ball that bounced off a fan 50 feet behind the outfield fence back into the field of play and into an outfielder’s glove would be an out. Ridiculous. If there’s anything funny here, it’s how someone who writes an extended story line involving baseball is so ignorant of a common rule.

I’m another who is enjoying the story, and checking every day or two. I tend not to comment since I’d be mainly repeating myself. One thing I did think of, what’s been going on with Sandy?

For those who missed it, there’s a reference to Annie in Sunday, August 15’s Gasolline Alley. I’m also old enough to recognize Dondi in that strip.

And BB, while I won’t post here every day, I’m very much enjoying your continuation and think you write a better story than anything that appears in newpspaper comic pages today.

BB, your story makes it worth checking this site out every day.

A local paper didn;t replace Annie by anything, but rather made Beetla Bailey and Curtis larger by adding the first line that is often omitted in newspapers.

Just another lurker who will miss Annie. I remember reading some form of the comic strip since the 1970s, and this is the last strip I wanted to see end. The one thing that seemed off in this incarnation is having Punjab and the Asp gone for so long. It’s been entertaining reading your comments, and comparisons to Dick Tracy, which I also remember reading in the Tribune as a child, but agree with most that that has become a total wreck. Here’s hoping Annie will reappear in some form in the not too distant future.

6/26/2003 is missing; should have been the day before.
