Some people will eat pretty much anything if you give it a fancy French name.

That can’t be as rare as the pasta I make. Only one person makes it, and I do it only every five years or so.

The known universe? Since the only place we can see storms is in our solar system, that is a pretty grandiose claim. Scientists have discovered Jupiter-like planets that are much closer to their suns than Jupiter is. They likely have storms that put Jupiter’s to shame.

Walking across the Niagara Gorge on a tightrope was a thing for awhile back in the 1850s. Check out Charles Blondin of France, the most famous. Among other stunts, he offered to carry a volunteer across on his back! Naturally, he got no takers, so he drafted his manager. Halfway across, he needed to rest, so he had his manager get down, stand on the rope until M. Blondin felt ready to continue, then had him climb back on his back and completed the trip.

Well, she was actually cheating. Like the Twilight Zone episode where a man made a wager that he would not speak for a year and had his tongue removed so that he couldn’t speak?

Aren’t a lot of inventions combining available components in new ways? The flashlight in question was probably obvious, but so was the light bulb. The trick with the light bulb was getting a filament that would last a reasonable length of time.

    Only on one side though.
