   Rufus or Mangus? Why is Kitty missing in action? Where is Joel?

   This story reminds me more of the hijinks tales of Dick Moores. If true, that means when Arlo and wife get to the organ loft, Rufus and Joel will be “fixing” the organ with a sledgehammer, oblivious of course to the bills coming out of it.

   I like the turkey begging for mercy.

   How old is Rufus anyway? I was reading a series of comic strips from 1948 and Rufus pops up as a handyman hired by Skeezix part time to fix things up and tend to the furnace and mow the lawn. He apparently lived next door in a rented room of a house owned by a widow. He wears the same hat he wears today and speaks “country.”

   If Rufus is in his 80’s he doesn’t look like it. And if Joel is even older . . . . ?

   Anyone have any answers here?

   Some animal trainer! How did his animals escape him? Hope this story ends pretty soon. It’s getting dumber panel by panel.

   North Carolina? I thought Gasoline Alley was set in Wisconsin in Frank King’s original home town?
