   Maybe originally Dutch, but it’s a type of (lidded) cooking pot that’s just called a “dutch oven” in some English speaking countries. They were what was referred to in the Musical Youth song Pass the Dutchie – Jamican patois, I think. … Not about the devil’s lettuce, but based on a song that was.
