I may get drawn and quartered for this, but personally I find that Cul de Sac is a superior strip to Calvin and Hobbes and I also think Wallace the Brave is as good as Cul de Sac.
Lackluster trying and failing over and over and over again until the kids spirit is crushed enough that they shrug it off and stop caring, or at least pretend to because constantly getting disappointed by something they care about is painful, is a lot crueler than just peacing out and vanishing off the face of the earth IMHO.
Yeah, no. It’s not greedy. It’s squeezing a rock extra hard to maybe get a few precious drops of water out. Chances are good that he will cancel last minute again anyway. It’s unlikely that the neglectful loser will have money for an outing like this anyway.
Yep. That’s fanfiction. An original story in an existing universe invented by someone else. A lot of famous authors have even published fanfiction, and I’m not talking about 50 shades of Grey. Every author who, like e.g. Neil Gaiman, has used Sherlock Holmes and Cthulhu in their work has written fanfiction. Pride and Predudice and Zombies? Fanfiction. Wicked? Totally fanfiction.
