   My guess is “I’m not like other girls” is just lazy writing to escape saying anything more specific. The awkward emphasis on “girls” (instead of “people”) is unnatural. If you mean something normal like “I’d love to donate, but I have low blood pressure” or whatever, just say so. If you mean she’s not a girl at all, then let’s get into that plotline stat!

   And then, to a motorcyclist, chicken strips have another (inedible) meaning. For those who are not familiar with that, they are the sides of the tire that don’t get worn if you don’t lean fairly aggressively in curves. (Because you are too chicken to take curves/turns at speed.)
