I say “Go Evie!” My kid has the same attitude as Holly. She is immature, thoughtless and could really use a reality check. If it were legal, I’d ship her over to Haiti right now to really understand what other people have to endure. Her latest crisis/whine fest is that she doesn’t have a new computer. Nevermind the fact I work 4 jobs just to keep our heads above water by paying rent and food bills. When I convey this to her, she just tunes me out. All I keep hoping for is that someday (in the far future) she has a kid just like her……
Way to go vldazzle! I am lucky, and my husband is a stay at home dad. He works hard though, cooks, cleans, does laundry, dishes, carts me and the kid around, takes care of our 3 dogs. Since I’m the breadwinner, we don’t have much money, but I do get lots of help. Wouldn’t trade it for anything! :)
I have found a bunch of old friends through Facebook. Plus, I get to keep in contact with some from all over the world. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

My step daughter’s real mom bailed last year. She doesn’t initiate any contact now. My step daughter does have her dad and myself though (when she isn’t mad at us).
My 16 year old step daughter and I got into a wicked fight about a month ago. She was so mad at me she blocked my number to ‘punish’ me. Now we can’t text each other, and if I don’t catch her call right away I can’t call her back. I could unblock my number from her phone, but I kinda like this arrangement. It’s much more peaceful this way.
