   The test refusal is a local government decision. So by “anyone”, dear leader really meant “any state”. A person with real health insurance (high deductible NOT HMO) could probably succeed in getting tested also. The people I know having that problem were on HMOs, where you don’t get to make your own medical decisions. I suspect if I went to CVS and paid them the $100 they would test me. (But I haven’t had any symptoms.)

   Yes, our cat has killed one too. But cats have to catch their prey unaware. Dogs cull the weak. Cats cull the inattentive. Imagine the carnage if todays youth walked through a jungle with Big Cats while looking at their phones … and there are wolves in street clothing.

   The Jewish account clearly and unambiguously dates the exodus at 2568AM, or 1448BC (480 years before Solomon’s temple with 814BC as the founding of Carthage).

   It is trendy now to completely ignore reliable historical accounts, and use Egyptian dates (despite several “dark” periods with no records rendering those dates ambiguous) based on an incorrect assumption that the Pharaoh was Rameses because of the name given the city in the account (later summaries used then current names, just like in English histories).

   Then they point to the complete lack of evidence for the exodus at their much later (200 years) date essentially pulled out of the air as evidence that the exodus never happened – while completely ignoring the rapidly accumulating pile of evidence at the date actually given in the Jewish account.

   Or the requirement itself was gaslighting. You can find mortality estimates closer to the truth from countries with better test coverage, like South Korea (0.7% compared to 0.1 – 0.2% for typical flu). Here, they refuse to test you unless you have knowingly been infected by someone known to have COVID19. This way overestimates mortality, way underestimates total cases (look! quantine is working!!), and makes intelligent quarantine difficult or impossible.

   Even pushing the technical name “COVID19” is gaslighting. To follow historical precedent, this would be the “bat flu” in the news. But “COVID19” sounds strange and scary.

   I watched our cat stalk a squirrel and get ready to spring, tail quivering. The squirrel sat up, looked right at her with an expression that said, “Make my day!” The cat slowly backed up the way she had stalked, then at a safe distance turned around and slunk into the bushes.

   Squirrels are not defenseless.

   Reading the full article (even if it is from CNN), all election workers were required to wear the PPE, and the representative was an election worker. He probably should have insisted on giving the press interview when NOT working the polls, but the framing of the headline is tabloid level misleading.

   An actually, literal, “theocracy” is an anarchy in human terms. Like Israel under the Judges. They had a God given Law – but no rulers. God was their king – which meant no human king. When the people demanded a king, they said, “We want a king to be like other nations!” I cringe when I hear people say, “We want socialism to be like other nations!”

   Look at Matthew 13. The laborers are instructed not to try to pull up the tares – lest they uproot wheat also. They will be separated at the harvest. Jesus says the angels will separate them at the end of the age – and also in the parable of the net catching many fish, both good and bad. It is not the job of Christians to judge between the two (although too many attempt it anyway).

   There will be another kind of literal theocracy – where Jesus himself sits on the throne, being both Son of God and Son of Man.

   Both forms of Christian theocracy are antithetical to “jihad”, which aims to bring about what is better termed a “mullacracy” – rule by religious leaders.

   And yes, I am aware there are certain Christian sects which do not take the Bible literally, and aim for a rule by Christian leaders in the name of Christ. There are also (persecuted minority) sects of Islam which see Jihad as a fight against personal sin, not a literal war against infidels.
