I don’t think they make Kirsten anymore. My daughter had her because she wanted a doll that looked like her. The other dolls were brunettes, not blonde like her.
My maternal grandfather was also in World War I and survived having shrapnel in his hip and mild gassing. He didn’t get a Purple Heart, although it may have been lost. He did get a medal for his service in several French battles.
The government doesn’t pay for a veteran’s gravesite or marker. Or medical insurance unless they go to the VA. My father was a veteran of 2 wars. My grandfather and his grandfather and his great-grandfather were all veterans (father – World War II and Korea, my grandfather World War I, his grandfather – the Civil War – Union- and his great-great grandfather – the War of 1812).
When I was in middle school (or Junior High), sports books gathered dust as the sports boys barely knew how to read.
