What the gun nuts miss is what Ramirez said. Yeah, by some idiot technicality, some fools ruled that bump stocks don’t make for an automatic weapon.

A conventional semi-automatic weapon, requires repeated manual (finger) action to achieve a rate of fire nowhere near the standard machine gun.

From Quora, by a guy who says he is a “Lifelong shooter, firearms instructor and maker of fine leather holsters”

“Modern semiautos fire a round every time the trigger is pulled. So how fast can you pull the trigger?”

“Top Three-Gun competitors can indeed pull the trigger three times a second — for short periods of time. So the theoretical “cycling rate” might be 180 rounds per minute, but the reality is you’re only maintaining it for bursts of a second or two.”

Here is a quote from the news: “The bump stock, which is non-mechanical, can simulate an automatic weapon, firing 400-800 rounds per minute. A fully automatic weapon, such as a M16 rifle, shoots 700-950 rounds per minute.”

Let’s go with 600 rounds per minute. That is 10 rounds per second. The Las Vegas shooter had 100 round magazines, so he could kill for 10 seconds at a time, before going to another magazine.

Now some idiots posting here are saying that the bump stock does not qualify as a full automatic. Really, at 600 rounds per minute for 10 seconds, compared to real life expert shooters doing at best 180 rounds per minute for a second or two?

It may be some stupid technicality that they are not classified as machine guns, but they are not semi-automatic. No finger is going to press 10 times per second for 10 seconds (and you are plain stupid if you mention video games, because video games to not have the tactile feedback of a firing gun on your finger and hand).

If it walks like a duck, if it quacks like a duck, and craps like a duck, it’s a duck.

Bump stock guns are perforce automatic weapons.

It seems unlikely Wally would have mentioned Endtown. None of the Topsiders in the Eden Project knew about Wally being from Endtown. Neither Kirbee nor Chic (nor Irving) were from Endtown. Kirbee is the most likely to have blabbed, and she would have said they just came from Unity which had been destroyed by a combination of an evil “haint” and the topsiders…

And the Eden Project folks would have been intensely interested in Wally if he had mentioned Marx. From the discussions with Amesworth, it appeared she did not know that. Their only interest seems to have been that he was a prime character in the comic. And Ravenscroft blew his opportunity to learn more about Wally.

I do wonder if the Eden Project’s trouble with the Eye began before or after Wally’s arrival in Eden. After seems most likely.

Actually immigration to what is now the USA began earlier than 1620. St. Augustine in 1565, Santa Fe in 1607, and Jamestown in 1607. Not counting the Roanoke colony in 1587, and in 1564, Fort Caroline, a French settlement in Florida wiped out by the Spaniards in 1565.

Well, what you have uncovered is how he (and others) functions when trolling. If someone replies directly to him it goes on to his notifications list, so he can decide who and when to respond. I long ago learned that it is more fun to not reply directly. It will slow the trolls down to have remember where they posted and check for indirect responses. Thus my first response was to you and not to him.

He calls you a coward because you are not helping trolling by him (or PW or that other faker). You should be happy that he is upset with you! After all, he likes people being upset with him. Turnabout is fair play, as they say.

Sorry to hear that the Magats are after you. Nothing new there, I am sorry to say. I am always amazed that Thomas Nash survived the Tweed administration.
