I must respectfully disagree with you – and so I’m writing to express just that. Political opinions are never appropriate – it’s unfortunate we have reached a point where they are deemed to be. Secondly, the vast majority are not witty – most attempts are godawful, to put it gently.

And this is yet another reason why the comments section needs to be just turned off – it’s a comic. Please leave your partisan politics at the door. It’s really not polite to inject that into every thing.

I just want to read the funnies in peace, man – without the polarizing drama. Is that too much to ask? Comments aren’t funny, the comic strips are.If there was a way to turn off comments, I would.

Ugh was this a (poor) attempt at a joke? Or is that actually your world view? I do hope it’s the former, and not the latter… just to keep from ruining the comic experience for people who just wanted to get a chuckle from one of their favourite comics…

one last comment: this attempt at rebirthing the concept of an economically classless society is just misguided.why is the current theme against people who rose to the top by putting in the effort?someone mentioned microsoft and gates earlier – and that’s an apt example.re-examine your point of view – if you live in the western world (and it appears that most if not all the posters are in North America), you already have a leg up compared to former soviet bloc countries and other parts of the world, such as Asia.i’m not a billionaire, but i don’t envy them – they figured out a product to get rich – good for them. i’ve been employed by many companies which were founded by someone now very rich – who got there by their business acumen.tax the rich too much, and they will leave that jurisdiction – taking their investments (jobs, infrastructure) with them.Just like the comic strip said – people being played against each other.

you’re kidding, right? the concept of communism has historically shown itself to be a failed system.

yeah but that makes no sense – why would you spend $1000 to save $50?

A few points:- the stock market is not legalized gambling – to dismiss it in such simplistic terms does not help anybody as you’re disregarding centuries of structured economics and finance.- the concept of wealth redistribution has communist leanings – as only the party in power gets to decide who gets what regardless of their labour. This is not some red scare from the 50’s – this is an attack on how you choose to live your life (and not being able to decide how to spend your money that you earned in your finite lifespan is an attack)- when laws are created, loopholes invariably form. changing the tax structure in a way that does not hamper growth and investment would be the answer. is it easy? no – that’s why countries struggle with it.- in our capitalist western society, nobody is stopping you from being a billionaire – go forth and come up with an idea that people want, and market it

i can go on, but i’ll summarize by saying ’don’t hate the player, hate the game’
