I believe the Japanese sword is a katana, not a catan.

As others have said, Catan (more precisely, “Settlers of Catan”) is a fairly popular board game.

He was always gray. Melville had to make him white in the book for copyright and trademark reasons.

I have several pair – they’re pretty much the only kind of pants I wear. I don’t like the feel of sitting on my wallet.

You’ve met death (insects splattered on the windshield, beloved pets who are now gone, friends and relatives who have passed, etc.); death just hasn’t met you yet.

On a similar topic, “fuse” and “fuze” are both words but for different things. A fuse is an electrical safety device, while a fuze is the trigger for military munitions.

If it was more accurate, Disney would sue for trademark infringement.

Evelyn the #1 starting pitcher but Dusty must be #2 and this is the second game.

Maybe it’s a double-check that the syndicate sent out correct the strips for the dates, and that papers ran the correct strip?

More recent estimates of the Methuselah Star’s age, based on updated and improved models of stellar evolution, put its age at 13.7 billion years. That would imply it was one of the first stars formed. (Current estimates place the universe’s age at 13.8 billion years, not 13.7 billion years.) Another estimate, using a different technique, puts its age at 12 billion years.

Of course not! It’s obvious from the cartoon that the pumpkin has pumpkin spice (probably a pumpkin spice latte) inside it!
