Married not buried. There’s nothing wrong with going out with the girl(s), dressed to the nines to have a terrific time! I’ve done this before and I had a terrific time. On a few occasions I had men show interest but I simply and kindly put them to rights. I’ve been married for 15 years and my few nights out without my husband didn’t cause any harm and neither have his nights out with his friends.
Connie isn’t suggesting Elly go trawling for guys…just encouraging her to have a good time.
I used to do this too when I was staying home with the kids. The bank account was in both of our names and I was perfectly capable of taking money out for what I needed but things were tight so I’d save the change and singles from various errands to put aside for little treats for me or something special for my husband. It also helped me pay better attention to how much I spent on things and where I could save extra money that got added to my own little stash.
ryanasimov: Women give each other slack because oftentimes before the kids came, we didn’t have to work for the figure. Suddenly having to put effort into what was always there just sucks. :) :) :)
Wildmustang: I don’t think Elly is shaking Lizzie. She’s just holding her up as she cries. I know when my boys were small like this and in the middle of fit I couldn’t figure out I would often hold them up and speak to them like this. Because some small corner of your sleep-deprived mind hopes that a sudden tantrum-stopping solution will come to you.
Way to go mom!
