@starshine1969: not much doubt that this is the tail-end of Brian’s work. I seem to recall that lead time for Sunday comics has always been longer than the dailies, so he would have had a few weeks of Sunday strips ‘in the can’ at the time of the handoff.
Okay, I’ve given this a couple of weeks, thinking maybe it was just ‘needing to get used to it’…it’s not just the art, but the writing is really, really weak. Adam’s on life support.
Because the classic ‘methode
Champenois’ (the Champagne method) was (and sometimes still is) performed from start to finish in the bottle, the punt prevents the lees (sediment) from sticking to the bottom, until the bottle is gradually inverted, the sludge collects in the neck, the neck is frozen, the frozen sludge removed, and then the bottle is corked and wired.
Had to look that one up…‘quark’ is a central European soft-cheese…not exactly sour cream:
