“There is a lot of anger in Dawkins arguments, and many easily recognizable logical fallacies”
Care to give an example of these logical fallacies rather than simply alluding to them?

It shouldn’t even be possible for people to think that this myth is remotely plausible. It’s a sad demonstration of the poor state of education. It’s like thinking that Mount Everest is 100 miles high.
Apparently surveys of the American public show that half of them answer incorrectly when asked if the Earth goes around the sun and takes a year to do it.

How does this happen?

I heard that even when people learn that a myth is debunked, people are more prone to remember the myth than the debunking.

That’s a level of stupid almost up there with the episode of Heroes where they described an eclipse as a global event. That’s when I couldn’t bear to watch it any more.

The fault is not in our stars, but in ourselves.

At least he’s not teaching him creationism.

Shikamoo, I don’t mean to be intransigent, but I really don’t get that. How does thinking that we are a special creation of a superbeing more humble than thinking we are just the result of mindless natural processes?
The former implies that we are much more important in the grand scheme of things than the latter. Just look at the size of the universe and how much of it doesn’t have anything to do with us. Do you really think the billions of galaxies are less important than this tiny rock?

“Inquisitor - You may want to take a look at the things you yourself are arrogantly presupposing.”
Which is what? That human beings are arrogant, biased and self-centered? We used to think the Earth was the centre of the universe until the evidence was forced down our throats. I think I’m justified in that assumption.
“Theinquisitor: I’d rather believe that God created the universe than a human. Which is what you are saying. God isn’t like us- we are like God, which presupposes humility for us to accept that.”
Is that what I’m saying? I’m saying that maybe the universe wasn’t created by an intentional agent like a human and you interpret that as me saying that a human made it. Yeah great reading comprehension.
And saying we are like god isn’t humble in the least. It doesn’t matter which way you order it.
Kid are born curious. They’re born scientists. When a kid gets some spoons and saucepans and bangs them together, we discourage it as mischief, but that’s an experiment in acoustics!
