   Did you know that JP II actually sent the bullet to Fatima on the anniversary of the shooting (which happened on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima). They found that the bullet fit perfectly into the opening in the top of a crown that is placed on the statue of her for special Masses. That crown was fashioned 46 years before the shooting. I got to see this crown with the bullet up nice and close in the museum and I was at the Mass for the 100th anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun and got a pretty good picture of the crown in the procession. If you look hard enough, you can even see the bullet in that pic.

   The Pope has the Pope-mobile because someone DID try to kill St. Pope John Paul II. They almost succeeded, too. The deviation of the bullet just enough to miss the major artery was truly miraculous.
