Been there, done that. Some scientists created a mirror that could magnify the suns rays into a laser beam that could cut steel. Now, why can’t someone point it at some water, make steam, use that steam to turn a turbine and generate electricity?

Let’s see….if that 4.5 billion years were crammed into one year, I believe humans arrived on Earth with about 2 seconds to midnight on Dec. 31st. Sure makes you think when life is in those terms.

Those who get spam are the ones who don’t know how to go into their account and say “don’t send me emails”. They are also the noobs who don’t make their profiles private, friend every person who friends them, and adds every application…they deserve what they get and shouldn’t get up here and complain. I LOVE my facebook.

My biology professor was talking about stem-cell research and all the wonderful stuff it has the potential to be used for. He said that he can only hope for new cartilage and to demonstrate he held the microphone to his knee and climbed the stairs in the auditorium–in front of 600 people and EVERY one of us gave a groan or ewww at the creaking and popping.

Uh….never mind. We’ve got snow. It probably won’t stick, but I don’t really care :-D

Ours was a snow fail. Weather report said possible over night, but if it happened, it melted. Same report for tonight, but heck, it’s Virginia. I’m not hopeful.

Sigh, everyone who thinks climate change is a “hoax” shows how ignorant of ANYTHING they really are. Here are the facts:

The CLIMATE is changing! Quit thinking of weather–it is irrelevant. Weather is what we see daily. It might be 70 degrees, it might be 50 degrees–it does NOT matter. Climate, however, is the overall conditions of an area as dictated over time. Most of us live in a temperate climate, some, such as Thailand are in a tropical climate. When your temperate climates start becoming tropical in the summers and arctic in the winters, you have CLIMATE change–a warm day in the middle of winter means nothing.

Here is all the proof I need that something screwy is going on (and I don’t much care about what causes it–I just know that life WILL be different). There is now a “North-West Passage”. Hudson got stuck in his bay when he sought it, the French got stuck in Canada. The English got stuck numerous times TRYING to find the NON-EXISTENT NW Passage. This was in 1600. This past summer, it was “found” and crossed. You can’t deny that this isn’t a sign that something is happening. It may be natural, it may be caused by human activity, WHO CARES?!?! but whatever the case, there is now a new trade route that had it been there 400 years ago, most of the people commenting here would be spelling a whole lot differently and speaking with a different accent.

I would say that this is a great opportunity to try new foods–look for recipes that call for all those spices she’ll never use otherwise.

My friend went to China for study abroad–they lost her bags for a week….She pretty much had to BURN the clothes she flew there in.
