Prickly City is my favorite politically conservative comic strip. (Every time I read Mallard Fillmore the level of sophistication and intellectual insight makes me more convinced that Ernie Bushmiller didn’t really die in 1982, he simply changed his name to Bruce Tinsley.) That’s why it pains me to see TWO usage errors in the March 25 Prickly City text: in the first panel, the use of “too” in place of “to”; and in the second panel, the phrase “from whence” (redundant, since “whence” means “from what place or source” all by itself). The misuse of whence is so common it has become widely acceptable to add from in front of it, but I expect better from Scott Stantis.
