It most likely is a typo and should be love. See my above reply to Beb. As for it referring to Phil, I doubt it. While we don’t always know what happens “off script”, but from what we have seen, she hardly knows him to be in love with him. She has grown up in many ways – Quill – and she is no longer the Aaron stricken girl she was back in Jr. high (maybe grade school too).

Another possibilty might be she wrote it about her time with Quill and doesn’t want Phil to read it as it might see it as she is still fixated on Quill, thus losing any chance of hooking up with Phil if he thinks she is still pining for Quill.

What makes you think it is about Phil? Maybe, but all those typos are probably about “glove” being substituted for “love”. I have run into that many times on a tablet because I have spellcheck turned on. On my tablet, if I don’t hit the character right in the middle of, it picks up the adjacent character, which may cause an unwanted word substitution. I don’t have that problem on my desktop.

The comic is not political. Let’s make sure that the comments are as well.

There are a few commenters who do make sure they “are as well” – make them political.

I do understand what you meant and intended, but too many don’t always get the nuances of the English language, especially those who look to start a political pishing contest.

But if it was his right eye, as shown in all the other pictures, it would imply he combed his hair over it and then opened up enough to show the eye. I guess he could have done that, but I think it more likely the Evanses sneaking it in as many commenters have posted about his “missing left eye” and if he even had one. So, I wouldn’t put it past them to sneak it in to see how many would catch it. BTW, it is in today 3rd panel too.

Agree. Don’t forget the TV screen. Today, it has to compete with tablets as a baby sitter. (◠‿◠)

Just watching a screen 8 hours a day for 90 years, would only be 30 years.

I have been looking at computer screens in one form or another for over 50 years. Back in the late 40s, we used to go to my cousin’s house to watch Sat. night “wrasslin”. My folks got their first TV circa 1952, a huge 12 inch B/W screen. Test pattern came on around 4 or 5 PM and broadcasts ended around midnight.

I’d say between work and entertainment, I might have spent as much as 20 years watching some type of screen for over a 75 year period. Keep in mind, I was born during the depression, the 30s, so it was less than a 1/4 of my life and most of it was part of my job.

While there are many jobs which require use of a computer of some sort, a lot people may never see a screen until they get home and turn on the TV. Clerks in stores do see the check-out screen (computer driven), but after scanning the final item – so they are not looking at it continuously all day.

Just the aroma of good fried chicken can make one almost taste it.
