I’m pretty sure that iMessage lets you know when a message has been read. RCS does also, so Android phones that use an RCS-enabled messaging app will too (I believe that the default Android messaging app does, but phone manufacturers don’t have to use it). The question is if Apple and Android will talk to each other and exchange read receipts.
I like the ‘polls’ that our politicians will occasionally send out, with questions like: President x is doing 1) A bad job 2) A horrible job 3) A really horrible job on issue Y. Later: 93% of my constituents think President X is doing a horrible job on issue Y.
On a similar note, there was the frame of a house that was on my way to work. It was a large house in an expensive area and I noticed that it stood, in a framed up state, for a long time. It actually made the local news, and this was not a small town. I forget what the issue was, but after standing unfinished for several years, it was torn down.
