@ a common ‘tater – avoid the sugar free and fat-free, ie, skim milk has 13 g sugar per 8 oz, 2% has 12 … just switch to more fresh, foods. The Mediterranean or South Beach Diets are both excellent for helping improve blood sugar #’s. Although with the SBD he recommends the use of sugar subs – I simply use regular sugars/sweeteners but cut down on them. You may also want to check out the Glycemic Index to see which foods have a naturally high level of sugar in them. Good Luck!
interesting that so many comments are from the perspective of North America and the sheltered life we lead where bombs, etc are only seen on tv – there are many, many children this young that are living with this reality and seeing it daily.
the reality that the NA kids see daily is the out of work dad, single mom with 3 kids, and divorced dad. Don’t need tv’s folks, kids aren’t stupid, deaf or blind…
People ask: Why should I care about the ocean? Because the ocean is the cornerstone of earth’s life support system, it shapes climate and weather. It holds most of life on earth. 97% of earth’s water is there. It’s the blue heart of the planet-we should take care of our heart. It’s what makes life possible for us. We still have a really good chance to make things better than they are. They won’t get better unless we take the action and inspire others to do the same thing. No one is without power. Everybody has the capacity to do something.
when i was alex’s age the shoes would come off the first day of summer holidays and not come back on until I had to go back to school! I definitely relate to her, after being bear-footted for 2 months your feet turn into little hoofs! LOL, not much fun squeezing them into … ugh,… shoes!
