It’s still one panel, just in the same long horizontal format of a multi-panel strip. Fits in more papers that way. There are more strip spaces on a comics page than panel spaces. You just always have to draw the original art in a way that fits both. It also means there’s non-essential art to the side of each panel you never see here.
Not sure why that happened. Must just be a mistake and my syndicate sent along the black & white file instead of the color one. Inside story: since Loose Parts runs in both panel and strip form; and runs in two different Sunday sizes as well, I end up shipping some 106 pieces of art every month. Fun job.
