“…to stumble onto her real deal passion profession.”
Why? G&K won’t let her do anything with it. It will just be forgotten, like all the other things she’s shown a talent for over the years. (acting, singing, stage design, etc.)
I would like to see a story about Luann and Jack training for a 5K. As long as G&K didn’t make Luann behave like a clueless idiot. Unfortunately, I’m not sure they know how to write for her any other way.
G&K could write interesting arcs for Luann if they wanted to. Unfortunately, they don’t. Apparently what they want to do, is keep dragging out this silly mess.
I have every book in The Cat Who series. I thought the early books were really good, which was why I got every one as soon as I could find it. I admit, I got a lot of them from clearance tables at Walden’s or B. Daltons (remember them? :D ) and I’m really glad I didn’t pay full price for some of them. There at the end, it seems like the author was just phoning it in. Most of the books were a rehash of how Quill came into his fortune, why he’s now living in Pickaxe, a rundown of the other main characters and their relationship with Quill, and the columns he writes for the local paper, along with a lot of quotes from The Old Possum Book of Classical Cats. The crime, whatever it was Quill was trying to solve, seemed like an afterthought, and the cats had little to do with giving Quill any inspirations or clues, unlike the earlier books. I’m not saying the later books are bad, just not as interesting—-at least not IMO.
