I wonder if Jenkins is related to the Jenkins in Mr Thompson’s Rip Haywire strip.

Mustard saved a lot of meals. In the early 70s, I was in the army stationed in W. Germany. I couldn’t eat most of the C rations available at the time without a healthy dose of mustard to hide the taste. Fortunately, good German mustard was readily available and was easy to carry when we went out into the field.

There wasn’t any break/hiatus in the original newspaper run of the comic: on New Year’s Day/New Year’s Eve they were dating and the next daily strip, they were married (and what we now know as Norm 2.0 began). The “12 steps to marriage” book came out months after the Norm 2.0 strips started.

Today’s strip is the same size that it was in the previous two reruns. Most of the Sunday strips in the current rerun have been larger but I suppose that the site never received a bigger version of this image.

Today’s strip is the 125th rerun this year. Makes me wonder if the strip is closing down soon.

patlaborvi is referring to the 2003/10/04 strip.

And those comments were based on the strip being in 1999 — that’s the only way that they could know for sure what the housing market would look like.
