I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…the scuttlebutt on this strip from the moment that it premiered as a webcomic in 2012 is that it is the female equivalent of the classic comic strip “Calvin and Hobbes” that was syndicated from 1985-1995. And this storyline reminds me of a storyline where Calvin and Hobbes run away from home and go to the Yukon. But hey, you would have to be a Millennial like me to remember things like that, so kudos to Dana, Phoebe, and Marigold for jump-starting the imaginations of children in the new Millennium!!! Go PAHU forever!!!

Hmmm…maybe Marigold is just playing dumb here as usual…also, to use an analogy from a classic comic strip:

“Happiness is finding a pencil.”—Charlie Brown, “Peanuts”

I have a feeling that unlike most comic strips (i.e. this one’s male predecessor, “Calvin and Hobbes” by Bill Watterson, 1985-1995), this one will be around forever…

Yup. The official “The Meaning of Lila” website (which has now been defunct for years) stated that fact. I have two Jewish Moms myself.

I have two Moms myself and am a total “Mama’s Boy” with both of them, so I just LOVE Max and I can see why he and Phoebe have such crushes on each other!!!

This could be indicative of most of Generation Z here in America…maybe not, but maybe so…

Hey! She looks like “Lucy” from “Peanuts!” Think about it.

I love the “Phoebe” archetype of a young lady. It kind of reminds me of Emma Stone’s character in the 2009 romantic comedy “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” with Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner. Freckles and everything. Think about it.
