Where I was teaching college last year, the 40% not paying attention seems about right. 50% missing the broad hint is also about right.
Sadly, 40% complaining to the dean that the teacher is too strict and that the grading is unfair is also about right, and 100% of all Fs being overturned into Bs is also about right.
JTRaine, don’t worry about it. Any one who actually enjoyed Encino Woman 1) Doesnt know what IQ means 2) can’t count as high as 55 and 3) wouldn’t know what to do with an apology anyways.
No, wait a minute, Peter would know what to do with an apology, if you gave him enough time.
I remember when I destroyed my son’s street cred by asking him what he was listening to, then telling him to turn it up because I liked it (Counting Crows, “Mr Jones”)

Neither do I, and I’ve been down that trail more than once. You’d think by now the human race would have given up on having children. They’re such a nuisance, such an expense, and, according to the wisdom of the following generation, we always did everything wrong. Why do we keep trying?
Hey, this guy’s in my Business Management class10! Glad he took the time to find out what it’s like! If only he’d take the time to find out what it’s like to earn a degree, we’d both be happy. (And he does expect to graduate after 3 more years of power-napping 23 hours a day and playing computer games the rest of the time.)
That could be me talking about my students this year. (Or about myself and my colleagues, as exams are in 3 weeks, and we have to submit our exams to the dean this week)
