I checked that “The Hill” article you mention, and when I click through the sources they link I find that they’re taking quotes out of context, and that the originals support what I’m saying. For instance, here’s their main point quoting the actual “appointment” by Biden:

“When Biden put Harris in charge of the border in March 2021, he said she would be part of a “full team” that would ‘deal with the problem here at home’ and ‘in terms of in-country.’ He added that ‘it’s not her full responsibility and job, but she’s leading the effort.’”

This linked to a transcript of remarks on the White House briefing room website, in which this is what Biden actually says about her responsibilities:

“I’ve asked her, the VP, today — because she’s the most qualified person to do it — to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle and the countries that help — are going to need help in stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border. And, you know, back when I was Vice President, I got a similar assignment, but one of the things we did was we made sure that we got a bipartisan agreement with Democrats and Republicans to provide over $700 million to the countries in the Northern Triangle to determine the best way to keep people from coming is keep them from wanting to leave…. the Vice President has agreed — among the multiple other things that I have her leading — and I appreciate it — agreed to lead our diplomatic effort and work with those nations to accept re- — the returnees, and enhance migration enforcement at their borders — at their borders.”

There are several other quotes in that transcript from both Biden and Harris about how her job is to address the root causes of immigration in those countries. The bits “The Hill” quoted are about what would be happening at home while she was doing that.

You remember incorrectly. Biden put Harris in charge of diplomatic efforts with Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras to address the root causes of migration (i.e., why people are leaving their homes in the first place.) She was never given any control over the border; that job was and continues to be done by the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas. Any and all sources that actually fully quote what Biden said will confirm this.

Boy, Nancy’s got some serious arm and core strength in that last panel.

“But that’s only that side of the coin. The other side, which no one seems to mention, is also ‘Heaven is each other.’ … Hell is separateness, uncommunicability, self-centeredness, lust for power, for riches, for fame. Heaven, on the other hand, is very simple—and very hard: caring about your fellow beings.” –Sartre

I also miss that, in particular.

I’m genuinely curious: how do you see it? Why would pulling the string away from the mug make the teabag go down instead of up?

Not a zombie, in that it isn’t another artist pushing out new work under the original creator’s name (e.g., Blondie, Beetle Bailey, etc.) It’s just in reruns.

That could basically be Nancy’s tagline.

Except that’s… the exact opposite of what’s happening. When the door is open, the knob is closer to the tea, so the line is slack. When the door closes, the knob moves further away from the tea, pulling the line taut.
