The studios don’t want their movies rated G because kids won’t want to see them. Kids consider G-rated movies “for babies.” It’s purely a marketing strategy.
Sorry, but as a frequent Comic-Con attendee, I do tire of these stereotypes. Cons attract all ages, genders, body types, etc. Yes, there are plenty of types of the folks Wanda is talking about (and what’s wrong with that?), but there are also plenty of folks that don’t fit that stereotype. This gag is tired and low hanging fruit.
Call me sensitive, but I guess I’ve just heard it too many times and I’m tired of the stereotype.
