Thank you very much for posting a link to comicbookplus. I was not aware of the site and it is a revelation. In this time of staying home and trying to find things to occupy our time, perusing these old comics is a fine way to spend a little time. Thanks again!!!
This strip originally appeared on January 5, 1989. (I checked in a Calvin and Hobbes archive). GoComics is re-printing these in chronological order and did not cherry pick this strip for its seeming appropriateness to current affairs.
This is just a: 1) cosmic coincidence, and 2) a tribute to Bill Watterson’s ability to capture human traits. His body of work should be one for the ages.
I look at the comments that use Calvin’s logic to bash both ends of the political spectrum. The fact that readers continue to find links between Waterson’s observations and contemporary events, more than 20 years after the strips concluded, demonstrate where the REAL genius lies.
from what I read, you can kill those things with a tennis racquet, they are that big.
