My motivation is that first, the local owners need to be supported, and patronizing them keeps the money in the local economy. Plus, they’re hiring my neighbors, which gives me a sense of helping.

  2. about 15 hours ago on Peanuts

But I think it was a birdbath, not a feeder. I had a birdbath in my front yard, about 3 ft. high, and squirrels would jump up onto the edge of it and take a few sips and jump off. I liked seeing them doing that.

  3. about 15 hours ago on Close to Home

Of course! I should have guessed. ㋡

There’s a disc golf basket near me although I’ve never played it. If you search for Disc Golf disc versus Frisbee you’ll see that there numerous specific differences between the two. The golf discs are even divided into categories: drivers, mid-range, and putters. And the game even uses caddies, although they must be at least 13 years of age!

  5. about 17 hours ago on Bozo

I guess Bozo blamed the dog for the noise on the radio. The dog is too cute for being blamed like that.

  6. about 17 hours ago on Close to Home

Well, we’re waiting for someone to say it. “does whatever a spider” what ?

  7. about 18 hours ago on Close to Home

Thanks. I’m too literal and often don’t see a joke the first time around.

No, the rhyme with veins, by Ned Snipes above.

  9. about 19 hours ago on Bozo

Yes, I noticed that yesterday in Fish Story as it indicated the passage of time.

Don’t forget that Foxo was more than a cartoonist, he was also an illustrator, and knew lots of techniques for projecting ideas. (And that’s not first-hand knowledge from me. It’s some of what I got from Michael’s book, and interviews with him here in About Bozo and elsewhere.)

  10. about 19 hours ago on Wizard of Id

The story I heard was that Coors required their product to remain refrigerated from brewery to customer, and in their early years refrigerated trucks were only available for short haul trips (or something like that). It never bothered me that it wasn’t available on the East Coast.
