Yep, that’ll leave a scar. Or two.

Farce is an art form misunderstood by many.

You mean the billionaires who don’t pay taxes?

  4. 3 days ago on Over the Hedge

I thought that was Musk, since he pays $0 in taxes & gets subsidies & federal contracts?

Yep, and when corporations became people and now have the ability to have their own religious views and can limit health care options for their employees based on the for-profit corporation’s religion, of which they thoroughly approve, they love it. I wonder if they’d be so pro-business if Hobby Lobby were a Muslim led corporation?

Unlike the ones who’ve been triggered since 2009, which is why we’re in the middle of a coup now. They’d rather break the system the give up an iota of control to someone who is not one of them. Also explains why they’ve intentionally broken public education, public parks, public health, essentially anything for the “common good” if that “common good” has to include others.

Don’t forget TJ also gave us the mess of the current Electoral College due to his temper tantrum when he lost to Adams in 1796. We went from per district electoral representation to “all or nothing” whole state electors.

Context is important, as is the concept “know better, do better”. 249 years later, we’re still not doing much better.Think of all the brilliant minds that have been tossed aside due to them not being monied White men. How much more advanced could our society be?Quite sad when you think about it.

I would argue not so quietly. The disenfranchisement is real as is the purging of voter rolls. The Vichy GOP couldn’t bear the election (& reelection) of Barack Obama.

Yep, I had a discussion with several family members in 2019 pondering who was the probable real Bond Villain, Musk or Bezos. I won the discussion that night with the group agreeing that, yes, Musk probably was going to be the Bond Villain.

    I really wish that I weren’t right.
