   It’s ridiculous to say Rall can never be satisfied, based on his merciless treatment of both W and Obama. Fact is, Rall will never stop attacking hypocrisy, and (in theory at least) if there were a non-hypocritical progressive Rall would favor their policies. (Still might attack their other foibles, though. I mean, it IS cartooning, not cheerleading.)

   It’s also ridiculous to say, as some have recently, that you can’t be left-wing enough for Rall. He has shown a strong pragmatic streak, and he’s been real hard on both left-wing purists (especially pacifists, whom he crucifies) and left-wing extremists (like Stalin type world leaders – and he’s even drawn Stalin himself as an archetype of evil).

   Besides, who needs to see Rall be happy, anyhow? What would we ever do if no-holds-barred cartoons were gone?

   “Noooo-body exPECts the Real Bug costume!” -Monty P?Well, if Buggy has gained an awesome reputation for ridiculous bugginess over the years, it’s a good thing he finally appears as an over-the-top creature. Anything less would have been a let-down.

   Now, we’ll got back to what Commenters were wondering a few years ago … is he going to turn out eventually (say, at age 17, perhaps) to be exactly the sort of firecracker who could be the perfect complement to Ruthie?

   You never know in what ways people will grow up and in what ways they won’t – especially two such characters. But if I were a betting man, I’d bet a nickel on a wedding.

   We’ll probably never know, though. OBH is a strip where no one ever ages at all. My nickel is safe.

   What’s LOL that won’t quit? LOLOLOLOL? Anyway, that’s my reaction. What a great – and too, too true – look at that special species of boy that is James.

   There’s permanent joy in some of the little things …Today is the first I ever noticed (and possibly the first Corey ever drew) the Elderpark sign’s subtitle: “A Place To Park Your Elder.” LOL! Plus, it’s funny and true, without being unduly cruel or demeaning to anyone (except maybe to an elder living complex that’s too big for its britches anyway).

   Waalll, it’s about time I commented after a real long time.I’m nostalgic myself for the days when comics earned money for the syndicates and publishers, yet paid the artists a living wage. No one can afford to work 5-10 hours drawing a strip anymore; the software that “assists” doesn’t cut it, and hardly any strip around anymore is the same. So there’s no point in criticizing anyone who packs it in – and there’s extra sympathy for anyone who loses their favorite strip. Take care, y’all!

   I can’t believe that everybody realizes Calvin is a preposterous, fictional character … UNTIL he suddenly says something that (later in American history) became a political hot button! Then, all of a sudden, folks are saying he proves the state of US schools in current times? He’s not only a serious academic authority now, but he’s also no longer 30 years ago? C’mon, folks! Just wake up!

    I kinda wish I could see the Comments from the first time Toby ran as a new strip! Things were happening in Toby in sync with developments in Corey Pandolph’s other strip, Barkeater Lake (in which Morris Sr. was an ongoing character before Toby was ever conceived). A really rather mind-bending development for the real-time reader.
