One Sunday evening I asked my parents if they could help me with a similar type of project. Dad asked, “When is it due?” I answered, “Tomorrow.” He asked, “When did you find out about it?” I told him, which was a couple of weeks previous. He said, “You got yourself into this situation, you get yourself out.” I managed to squeak out a B with very little sleep, and I don’t procrastinate as much anymore…hardly at all!

Did lovers really fall in love to stay / stand beside each other come what may / Was a promise something people kept / not just something they would say & then forget / Did families really bow their heads to pray / Did daddies really never go away / oh, Grandpa…tell me about the good old days. So many memories. My brother started a horror club (and destroyed my favorite doll as “decoration”). My friends & I started so many different clubs: princess club, game club, others that the themes escape me right now. Secret handshakes, codes…so much fun.

When I was 14 I liked a boy, Chris. We dated for a short time; we didn’t “click” but decided to stay friends. He was one of my dearest and closest friends all through high school. Since he didn’t have any sisters I filled that role for him. When he met a girl in high school I couldn’t imagine anyone more perfect for him & attended his inevitable engagement party with pride and love. They remained married until he sadly passed away in 2021. His wife & I are still good friends.

Ewww…foot massage! I absolutely hate having my feet touched. When we were first married my husband tried to give me a foot massage. It wasn’t pretty. Then there was the doctor whom I TOLD not to touch my feet; just tell me where to put them. She disregarded me & grabbed my foot. I sent her across the room with one kick.

I read it as kind of a compliment, since Elly isn’t everyone’s favorite character.

I recently reconnected with one of my best friends from 1st grade. We hadn’t seen each other in almost exactly 50 years (I moved in 2nd grade). One thing she told me was that my house was one of the few places her mother would allow her to go; and that, to her, going to my house was almost like going to Disneyland.

One day, years ago, my husband made a beef stew, but it came out a very unsightly and unappetizing shade of green. His father, he & I were all hesitant to try it, but it turned out to be the best stew any of us ever had. All that said…I’d go for pork chops.

My daughter turned 18 in 2020…2 days AFTER election day! That bugged her to no end.

My husband chops up the mushrooms really fine before putting them in the sauce. I have a (adult) nephew who says that he won’t eat spaghetti with mushrooms, but eats my husband’s. Oh, and yes, he knows.
