Tomorrow: Tracy gets wind of these “con” books, assumes they’re trying to scam the entire city, and in the last panel proceeds to gun down all 17 Margies.
(The following day: Turns out to be only minor flesh wounds and they all have a good laugh about it while sharing a case of root beer with Snoopy and Woodstock.)
Um… trying to be patient here, but Dick Tracy has been barely noticeable in this strip for the past few months. Didn’t he used to, like, fight crime or something?
So while I wouldn’t mind the occasional cameo by other comic characters, working them into the center of the story line for weeks on end is pretty annoying.
SPOILER ALERT Coming this week: Tracy sends desperate calls to Batman, Nancy Drew, The Phantom, Charlie Chan and Little Orphan Annie to come help him solve this deadly case!
I’m not sure how Brush is walking away from this. In the last strip Tracy appeared to have shot him in the chest at point-blank range. Either he’s a bad shot or he’s using rubber bullets.
Sorry, but I’m really having trouble maintaining interest in an elite auction held by the Millionaires’ Club. (Plus, why is Dick Tracy hanging around? I think I missed that part.) The characters haven’t aged a day over the past several decades anyway (Warbucks made his fortune profiting from a war that ended in 1918, after all!) , so what possible interest do they have in this immortality formula?
Lately I’ve found myself scanning the backgrounds for the pig on wheels.
