   I had trouble with multiple sites late last night. I read that Microsoft had issues yesterday morning, that cause trouble down the pipeline. I’m starting to think something else was struggling as well, causing all these other sites to run into problems.

   Thanks to my stint in retail, I can only really enjoy about 2 weeks of it in December anymore. But when I do, it’s all about Bing, Danny Kaye, Burl Ives, Andy, Frankie and others from that era. My grandma had all the good Christmas records. I always put The complete Nutcracker Suite into the mix. I don’t mind a little Wham, Beatles and Lennon in moderation, but can’t stand Mariah. Toss in some Dolly and Alabama for the country side of it. I also make sure to throw in the Dr. Demento Presents the Greatest Christmas Novelty CD of All Time, The Grinch, the Charlie Brown Christmas and some Gayla Peevey just to watch folk twitch.

   A sweetie like Tommy would be a real asset at vaccination locations. I hate needles, having had allergy shots for years. I was simply amazed that I felt neither one of my injections, til site pain kicked in a day later. Those nurses are on point.

   It’s been exactly one year and a day since my last trip to a professional. Somewhere around September, I let my husband hack off 4 inches. It was all he was willing to try, having never cut hair before. So now, I have a very long, crooked blunt cut, that gets rammed into a bun daily anyway. And the greys! Holy cow, where did all of those come from? Grow out your highlights, get a new surprise every time you check the mirror. EEEK!

   I wish both I and my husband could’ve voted early. We were at our polling place before they opened the doors this morning. In and out in 45 minutes. It was much busier than usual too. I plan to take a long nap under a blanket of kitties, have some hot tea, read, knit and ignore the news feed til tonight or maybe tomorrow.

   And don’t hire officers that were recruited young and rammed through police academy in 4 months. Follow what some of the European countries do and train them for a couple years in de-escalation tactics and make sure they can pass the psych test. Quality over quantity.

   Cat stampede here, followed by the furry bladder buster. If those two things don’t launch me out of bed, the alarm on my Iphone does the trick a little later. I loaded Yakkity Sax on it.

   My cats are indoor only. It’s basically the girls defending ‘their territory’ through the door. Little Mama is lame and can’t compete with other wildlife in the area as well for food. She knows she can get residual birdseed and clean water at my house until she weens the baby raccoons and they can wander into the greenbelt behind our house to forage for themselves. She always comes back. The babies tend to find different territories after they grow up. It’s been a pretty good system since we moved here.

    I have a mama raccoon who has been visiting me on my second floor deck for five years. Every year, she has a new litter. The most interesting part is watching the babies learn to shimmy up and down the posts for late night snacks. The second most interesting is watching them go nose to nose with my two cats through the deck doors and scream at each other all night.
